Thanks to the joy of the reciprocal link and in some cases just because we think they’re cool, the following are what we have termed ‘Friends of Lesbian Gamers’. These sites are cool people, as well as friends and supporters of Lesbian Gamers. We thank them for their support or their input into the gay – or – gaming community.
AfterEllen: The best Lesbian Entertainment News Site
If you’re a lesbian and you like entertainment then AfterEllen is your one stop shop. It’s really special to us also because it’s thnaks to AfterEllen, Lesbian Gamers has the video show Gay Girls Who Game. In two words, they rock!
Wil Wheaton: Wil Wheaton [coz he's one of us... not a lesbian.. but a geek].
I’m reading one of Wil Wheaton’s books at the moment and I’m adding him for a few reasons. 1. Because he loves games and geekery. 2. Because he seems nice and there’s not enough of that around and 3. Because he knows what it’s like to get hate mail for merely being a geek and sharing his thoughts with the masses. We get our fair share of that here and like us he doesn’t understand how people with the same love can be so nasty. His thoughts are cool, if you haven’t checked his site out do so.
BrainyGamer: BrainyGamer
The Brainy Gamer is a blog and podcast devoted to video games and the community of gamers. It’s run by our pal Michael and we think it’s pretty special. Michael hopes to help bridge the gap between the game scholar and the serious game player. He’s also a nice guy so check it out.
ThumbBandits: Thumb Bandits
Thumb Bandits is a site that since 2004 has been run (and continues to be run) by female gamers. Unlike some female gaming sites, Thumb Bandits has always been about inclusivity and sports a mixed and large readership. They are also the minds behind ‘The Vagina Gamerlogues’ which crosses over to Lesbian Gamers in late 2008. They are our sister site with our 2010 relaunch.
Sadly due to hackers ruining certain back-end features and spammers decimating the original site, it was moved in January 2010. At the time their forums had amassed 15354 members and their site hits were 16629852. It’s a shame they have to start over, but if you’re looking for a cozy / friendly forum, head on over there.
Gamer Girls Unite: Gamer Girls Unite
Gamer Girls Unite is run by a dear friend of ours here at Lesbian Gamers. Her website is based in Europe, but has content of interest to anyone. The site features reviews, gaming horoscopes and creative ideas.

Good As You G-A-Y represents a new generation of GLSBT activism. Now is the time for intelligent, progressive-minded individuals to step up and fight for the common rights of which they might be denied. We’re here to rally the troops.
