Hey, ive been listening to nightwish a lot (so prefer Tarja but Anette is good too). Also quite liking UnSun. Just wondering if anyone else listens to similar and can recommend more bands. Im quite liking the dramatic sounds and more clean singing. Its also great for a session of dungeoning in wow :)

if you want more gothic music thats awsome/good but not like nightwish let me know ;)… also if u havent heard the songs that are in the movie Sucker Punch then i recemend listening to em all the songs are awsome :D

cool, ill check those out, i do like lacuna coil, first hear them from Vampire: The Masquarde Bloodlines :) so geeky hehe. I also like lots of music everything from jpop, techno, jazz, country rock everything really

cool me me too… i have a asianpop(jpop/kpop) playlist on youtube lol :P… also u might like kittie – brackish ( http://youtu.be/r3ThppM3IhA )… also the kidney theives – before im dead ( http://youtu.be/d_9_DnbhQsE )… idk… also idk if u know but on sunday mornings on sbs there is a new show called popasia it plays the most requested popasian songs… also there is kpop concert being held in sydney this year with the most popular bands/groups/etc. proforming there… i wanna go but i can't afford to :(

quite like epica from the couple i just listened to. Lacuna coil i dunno im picky with them i guess, i love our truth (partly from playing on guitar hero), just found a couple more, Beautiful Sin and Krypteria that are really good

I love Nightwish!! Although I have only heard two of their albums Dark Passion Play and Oceanborn (millions of times).
I would like to get the rest and truly abasorb the essence of Nightwish music.
I heard Lacuna Coil before NIghtwish. and their pretty good but damn, against Nightwish they have a lot of ground to make up.
there's Within Temptation though i haven't heard much of them

Listening to Nightwish got me into Blind Guardian way back when. And from there I sort of jumped to the Trans Siberian Orchestra. The same idea of really, really strong vovals and story elements with absolutely amazing instrumentals. So easy to just fall into it.
Of course, if there's an interest in gothic music, I've been a fan of the Cruxshadows since their Telemetry of a Fallen Angel album, and Aurelio Voltaire is just all sorts of fun.

Epica, Delain, Visions of Atlantis, After Forever, Revamp, Leaves Eyes, Liv Kristine, Memoria, Moonspell, Penumbra, Serenia, Tristania,
These all fall under the female fronted 'melodic metal' bands :)
