So my friend likes to bring up random subjects up all the time because that's just the way his mind works some times but I thought this one was fairly interesting and could spark up quite a conversation. At least, that is my hope.
Basically, we were out shopping one day (no, he's not gay, which is why I was with him since he wanted to find a bit more 'dress up' clothes) and I said I wanted to stop by Bath & Body Works to pick up some stuff since they were having a sale. It was at this point that he got that thoughtful look on his face and asked me this:
"So wait…as a lesbian, wouldn't you want to wear cologne for men rather than for women since you're trying to attract other women?"
After giving him a … look for a few moments, my first response was that not necessarily all women are looking for a 'manly/butch' woman. Personally, while I have nothing against the smell of men's cologne, I think my mind would just get confused smelling it on a woman, save for maybe a few but those tend to be pretty unisex intended in general. I don't necessarily need or desire for them to carry a particular scent so long as they bathe and use deodorant if they need it. I know for one of my ex's, I came to appreciate the smell of her shampoo because it was kinda a LD relationship and that scent would stay on my pillow for a while after she'd have to leave to go back home, but nothing else.
I dunno, at first, it seemed like such an easy question to answer but it did make me think back as to how much of an importance (or lack thereof?) I made someone's scent to be. I wear scented lotion/perfume because I like the way it smells. Having someone else like it is just an added bonus, LOL!

I'm not a big fan of too much perfume. It has a very sharp scent normally, and it kind of overwhelms me. I like little, subtle things, like shampoo.
I don't really use anything myself except my body wash and shampoo, which leaves me almost without a smell all together, though, I guess I have a kinda sweet natural smell, and admittedly, I love it. XD

I've never really been interested in perfumes or scented lotion or anything, but my girlfriend gave me a tshirt of hers and I can still smell her perfume on it. I like that a lot ;}

I actually love perfumes and scented lotions.
I use a variety of perfumes but my favourite is hugo boss: deep red. It smells so good.

i love to wear three kinds of cologene. Bod-Fresh blue musk. Bod-Black and Azure-Chrome.
i love good smells. like Vanilla is one of my Favorite scents on another girl. but its not vital as long as it doesnt make me cough and sneeze from a mile away or smell like a much older persons house. im all good with anything

Dude I loooove anything Vanilla, but for some reason I like buying guy stuff like Axe or Old Spice too :D it smells really good!

Oh man, I remember wearing CK One and Be back in middle/high school… Pretty good stuff but just haven't worn it in a while. I didn't know it was still around, honestly. Haven't really touched any designer stuff since Bath & Body Works.
It's probably one of the few things I get fairly girly over since I coordinate my scent to what I wear. <_<; Red, brown, yellow or orange and I'll use Amber. Green I'll use Coconut Lime Verbena or Cucumber Melon. Blue or purple, I'll use White Cherry Blossom or Pearberry.
Though I don't use it personally, I do love the way the Warm Vanilla Sugar smells, it's like Snickerdoodle cookies! XD

Wear a smell that you like. You have to smell like it after all.  Cologne/perfume male/female is just marketing. Scents are not inherently gendered. Also keep in mind that since perfumes/colognes are oils, they smell differently on each person's skin.
I wear Calvin Klein Euphoria, Azzaro Chrome Legend, Bvlgari (can't think of the specific type), and, my signature scent, Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme.
Just stay away from Axe and you'll smell just fine.

I have a funny perfume story that happened this morning.
Actress Kate Walsh (Addison in Private Practice) is releasing her fragrance called "Boyfriend" so I tweeted her and said the name was kind of lame because the whole marketing thing is based around having a boyfriend, so lesbians are kind of out of the equation and she replied with this:
@Girly_Gamer – How 'bout it's the only Boyfriend you'd ever want? ;)

I used to buy various body sprays from Bath and Body. I smelled like Vanilla and Cucumber Melon for years. Then my sister gave me Hanae Mori Butterfly for Christmas. I used to wear Sunflowers and CK One. All it does for me now is bring back memories.

I LOVE Coolwater for men. I bought that for my girlfriend years and years ago, and I still love the smell of it on her. I like to pick up a random shirt of hers when she's not here and smell it. When I would go away for work trips she would spray it on a stuffed animal I would take with me. :)

I don't really like very many types of perfume. But, I absolutely adore cologne on women. I think it's one of the most sexiest things a woman could wear…rawr ;) haha.

Addias Move. male or female. they smell similar the male one has a muskier note to it that i tend to like to wear better. but i love the smell of the female one on someone else.

Ooo! Drakkar Noir! That's another cologne I love. When I was like 16 or 17 I had a huge crush on this girl who used to wear it a lot. She gave me a t-shirt with it sprayed on and Oh…my…god it was amazing. It's just one of those smells that makes your heart pound lol.

Obsession eh? I don't think I've ever smelled that before. I'm definitely intrigued though. I'll have to find it and give it a sniff lol. Oh, I completely forgot! Lacoste Challenge is epic as well.

and i just happen to have found a cologne called lucky seven. it has a Dragon on the front. and it is really light but musky at the same time

very true. and it is one of the sections i work in at night. and holy moly i can't breathe. but just one bottle at a time is fine.
i also find i like smelling the deodorant sprays like axe,tag, etc can smell nice too. especially their body wash and shampoos

I bought one of the newish types of Old Spice awhile ago. It's called Old Spice Fiji. It's my favourite kind. It's very fresh and strong smelling without being too overbearing. I love it.
