I'm not sure if someone had already posted anything regarding the PS3 move controller, I had a quick squiz to check and did not see anything.

The PS3 move controller is coming out some time this year (supposedly this month?). I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it, could it kick ass? Is it a definite must get? Has anyone had the opporunity to see it demo yet?

Hi I'm really excitied about the move but will wait a while for a price drop. I'm not impressed at all with the games so far but see heaps of potential. Right now the games are not much better than Wii. The best ones I've seen seem to be the fighting game and table tennis. I can't wait for some motion games made for adults rather than the shite we've seen the last few years.

PS – maybe one day there will be a move version of GTA (san andreas style) where you get to act out everything in the game (yes this is my fantasyLaugh)

Ok so here is the dish on the Move and the Kinect. I saw hands on with both and the Move is way more responsive than Wii remote and the things I saw in the demo, it will be a great addition to the PS3. Some of the ideas they have been toying with and the games that are supposed to use it, I think it will be great. I'm actually really looking forward to The Fight, which sadly comes out in October but I can wait, I guess. Laugh

The Kinect for the 360 has great potential, if they can get it to work right by it's release date. It seemed to be having issues if you weren't standing just right. These are things that can hopefully be easily corrected as they still have a couple of months to do so. In the states the release for the Move is Sept 17th, in about a week. The Kinect, Nov 4th.

There's my humble opinion from seeing these both up close and personal, hope that helps a bit.

did anyone get 'move?' i picked it up last week cant say im overly impressed with it. it is far better than a wii but yeah just now with the current games its still a wii. plus when you add up all the costs of the extra controllers it just isnt value for money. just now it has nothing to keep me goin back for more (plus the day after a few hours play i was a little sore!!). the fight might change my mind though if its doesnt get traded in before it come out.

im far more excited about kinect.  it appears to be more than just wii. the interaction with the xbox is going to change. i love the idea telling the xbox to pause and play a film rather than using my controller or buying a remote. time will tell if it lives up to its potential.

Hey girls,

I've played both the Move and the Kinect and from my point of view, they are both great. But depending on which one a consumer should go for if they had to choose one or the other, it would depend on what type of gaming that they are into.

PS Move is great if your more of a hardcore/casual gamer due to the list of games that are already and are going to be PS Move compatible. Also with the Move the accuracy is unbelievable, I tried to pay ping pong with it at EB Games and I tried to play it like how I usually play it with the WII and I failed miserably.I noticed that it traces the amount of strength you put into your wrist when you flick it and the direction of where your hit will be. What the Move has done has pretty much mashed together the WII and the Kinect in one (due to the eyetoy being a full body senser as well) and made it way more accurate and in HD.

Kinect is great and a lot of fun, but I noticed that so far its mainly focusing on family fun type of games. Accuracy isnt too bad, but its great when you have a bunch of mates over or if you have kids. Unfortunately for me being a hardcore gamer, I can see me getting bored with it and collecting dust because there isnt going to be many hardcore games for this technology.

In my opinion i aim on getting the Move in roughly a year when there has been more games released that are move compatible.

Thanks for that run-down. I'm thinking about getting the move so that I can play "The Fight," I'll wait a while on the Kinect.

I am probably the most proPalystation person around, but I'm not so big on the Move.

Although it is tons better than the Wii-mote, it doesnt necessarily revolutonize motion-gaming. I think. I say this because of the existence of something like Kinect; with face-rec, voice-rec and no controllers whatsoever.

Sure you can play hardcore games with it, but hard core gamers do not stand up and prance around with colorful sticks.

But then I've only read articles on it. Experiencing it first hand may change my mind.

Due to the technology of the Kinect it has displayed itself as a revolutionary part of motion gaming. But even though the features of voice and face recognition are unique, would it be able to still keep gamers interested in these features over time.

Not all games with the Move require full body mobility, games like Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, Resident Evil 5 and other future releases wouldn't require this.

Don't get me wrong both the Move and the Kinect are two very amazing peices of hardware but give it a try and you'll see what I mean with the differences.

If you check out FAAST, the kinect "hack" on youtube you can see some people playing "hardcore" shooters with it. There's also a guy making something similar called MaxKinect. It's possible to only need your hands with the kinect, he can also play sitting down. They all have the potential to do great things, it really depends on where they take the technology – for me the Kinect will win if they do something innovative with it (imagine Mirror's Edge for Kinect (eeee!)) – if the games all played the same nothing could beat intuitive controllerless controlling.

I'm working on some control scripts for kinect + PC games, trying to make some older games fun by body-controlling the action, I really wanted to try L4D2 and tweak it but I don't think my computer can handle it – so I won't have any first hand knowledge on how the shooters compare :(

I have purchased both the Kinect and Move and both have really impressed me. I only have a couple of games for each but the accuracy of both has been incredible. The only negative thing I have to say is that with the Kinect you need to have enough space to play it. My TV is quite near my sofa and therefore the Kinect kept saying I was to close, I had to turn my TV at an angle and play from there! The move I could play from any distance!   If anyone is into shooting games, I highly recommend The Shoot for the move. The game is based around shooting scenes for a movie.

Supposedly if you have your Kinect higher than your TV you need less distance lengthwise to play. I rearranged the furniture so I can easily just turn the couch out of the way now and have free space to the wall haha but I am also getting the mount thats supposed to be for the PS3 eye so I can set my Kinect up on top of my TV, bonus that it will work as a mount for both. When it couldn't see my feet once it just assumed I was continously jumping ;(  Kinect definitely needs more games.
