Gay Girls Who Game – Season Four Episode Seven – Halo Reach, PlayStation move and more

Gay Girls Who Game have a bumper vlog for you this episode with reviews of PlayStation Move (including Sports Champions and other titles), Halo: Reach, DeathSpank, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and FIFA 11.

As well as all those reviews there’s also the usual viewer feedback from the previous episode.

Comments for this episode can be left (and will be responded to) here at though the vlog will also appear at AfterEllen. Due to their new region locking of videos can you comment here, this will also ensure we can respond when filming the next episode.

Have a great gaming week!

Note: We have been informed by After Ellen that videos will now be region locked at their site (found out Nov 5 2010) …. “When we put videos into our own player, which is what will soon be happening with all of our vlogs, they are region locked. It’s an unfortunate thing, true of all videos on Elton, Logo, etc. We can’t do anything about it”.

This is why we are now paying for a Vimeo account. Hopefully this will help with all the issues people have tweeted and emailed us about. We are also working at backdating as many vlogs as we can for stable, non region locked viewing. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this should fix it for you.

Have i finished Assassin’s Creed? Do i really have to answer that question?

No, i haven’t finished playing Assassin’s Creed yet, i did play for a bit on the weekend but i’ve mostly been playing Unreal Tournament and its never a good idea to kill yourself while on a killing spree.

    I’m liking Assassin’s Creed.

First up…now I know what THAT sound was! Down here in Sydney, we were all wondering where that shreeeeeek came from! It was Angela starting up Halo! I’ll let the people of NSW know 😉

Thank you thank you thank you for putting the vlogs on LG for us folk NOT in the US. Region blocking is soooo 2008 & I have NO idea why plonkers are still implementing it.

Thought the game review selection this week was soooo great as there were d/l games, xbox & ps3 – something for everyone. The only thing missing was our ol’ friend the Wii. Any titles coming up for that? The only thing that has caught my eye is Golden Eye – and only that as it’s a 2 player shooter of sorts.

Thank you again for the effort u guys put into the vlog. It’s really appreciated. I’m off now to continue my Fallout New Vegas quest – got to get my dog a new brain!

Do I sense a little Halo vs FIFA tension in the room? Ha! I wish you guys had filmed the PSMove set up shenanigans. Sounds like it was a frustratin’ hot mess. ; )

Did Angela’s Squeee of delight coincide with the volcanic eruption in Indonesia?

I am still currently playing Red Dead Redemption, and am enjoying it. I am looking forward to the new Ace Combat title for the PS3. I know you won’t review it because of the motion sickness issues, but when I get my hot little hands on it, I will let you know how it is.

Puzzle Quest for the DS was essentially all “match 3 or more” puzzles to fight enemies. Addictive but repetitious. But it was fun.

    Cheers from California

    Hey everyone!

I’m couldn’t wait for this episode to come out, and out of nowhere a huge number of reviews… awesome!

I just downloaded the Lara Croft demo from Steam and I will check it out.

Me and my coworker got sucked into a free to play MMO called Vindictus. It is interesting because unlike many MMORPGs, you take a very active role in combat. I think i’m getting bored of it as is inevitable with these types of games… but it gives me hope for the genre. If are interested by the description, I highly suggest you check it out… its free!

And in other news… the game that I have been working on for a year has been submitted to IGF! You can view our submission page here, and there is a download link if you would like to test the game

it should work fine on any Windows PC, but its still a work in progress. (download link is at

Speaking of hangovers I think you just helped to cure mine! So thank you :)

I played on Halo Reach round my friend’s house back home. I thought that it was less disorientating and just better made than the last one I played on (Halo 3). I just kept getting irritated by the hologram perk thing in multiplayer (I don’t know if that is new or not). Still not convinced on the franchise.

Is it just me or did that DeathSpank trailer have some similarity to Brutal Legend? Can’t put my finger on why..

Ah Playstation Move…don’t become another eyetoy! The archery looks awesome but there’s no way I’ll fork out for just that.

And you’re right…nobody ever wanted to be the goalkeeper 😛

  6. kreigen says:

Oh, I almost forgot, the region video thing sucks (UK myself…so no more videos for me) :( but thank you for working to bring the vlog to everyone!

  7. Xanadugrrl says:

I’m sorry Tracy, I will have to fight you for Isles aka Sasha Alexander… that is my future wife you are talking about!

I agree about the goalie speech- because I was TOTALLY the goalie in high school- and I was slow and chubby.

I haven’t played Halo Reach, but I swear every single boy in a 20 mile radius is playing that game currently. I think most of the men on my college campus are going to fail this semester because of that game!

I finished playing Fable 3- and I enjoyed it, for the most part. The game kind of throws you off about 1/2 way through- and if you haven’t been buying stuff and trying to earn money, good luck in getting the perfect ending.

I am about 1/2 way through Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. I really enjoy it so far, but I just haven’t had time to finish it. I also haven’t had the chance to play the multi-player parts- I look forward to that.
