Battlestar Galactica online MMO launches in Fall thanks to NBC Universal and Bigpoint

Oh my frakking Gods! NBC Universal and online game publisher Bigpoint are set to launch Battlestar Galactica Online, a massively multiplayer browser-based game set in the BSG universe. The game will be co-developed by Unity, who they’re presently working with on the next generation of browser based games – codename Uniter – expected to demo at GDC. The Battlestar Galactica online game is expected to be a combat adventure title with various character classes, ships and worlds lifted straight from the show, including the ability to be a human or cylon. Interestingly Unity also works with iPhone, so it will be interesting to see if they do some sort of mobile tie-in. If you’re a BSG fan with a penchant for MMO gaming head on over to the Battlestar Galactica Teaser site and register for updates.
