Here’s the rest of the gaming news that happened this week that didn’t make our main news stories here at Lesbian Gamers. Lots happened, some of it good and some of it bad, so let’s get right down to it shall we?
Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 18.3gig install
Which sounds like a lot, but the PS3 version is over twice that. The breakdown is Disc 1: 5.9GB, Disc 2: 5.8GB, Disc 3: 6.6GB. Via [ve3tro].
No new “Wii” any time soon says Cammie
Cammie Dunaway made a few announcements at the recent Nintendo Summit, but nothing alluding to a new Wii, that’s because Dunaway says the Nintendo Wii “still has a lot of room to grow.” Given it’s still selling like crazy, why would they even bother.
U R MR GAY in Mario Galaxy 2 logo?
Well not in the trailer logo, but in the published logo. You may be aware that back in 2007 the original logo was made fun of because the stars below certain letters were seen to spell U R MR GAY, the new logo was the same, until it appeared in the recent trailer and the stars were under different letters. Needless to say a certain moronic sector of gaming had a blast with this one.
Rumor: Steam for Mac?
Some keen eyes Steam forum users allegedly spotted some Mac OS-X specific graphics tucked away some place. Needless to say the internet lit up with “Is Steam coming to Mac?”. Needless to say Valve are keeping schtum. For those that were alseep this week, Steam launched its open beta and its very flash indeed.
Heavy Rain glitches making gamers miserable?
Apparently quite a lot of PS3 owners are having major issues with Heavy Rain. Not only is the gameplay depressing them to hell, some people are having game crashes and other annoyances, like losing game saves.
FarmVille is big, very big
The Facebook application FarmVille is huge, it’s so huge in fact that it’s reported to have over 80 million users, actually by the time you read this, chances are that figure will be closer to 82 million. I know pretty much everyone on my Facebook friends list is playing it.

More 2D fighting on the way to arcades as SNK announce The King of Fighters XIII. It may well release to the year since The King of Fighters XIII released in Japanese arcades.

Wednesday saw XBLA Greed Corp, Fret Nice & Lazy Raiders
Three new games hit Xbox Live Arcade this week and we’ve popped them below for your perusal:
Developer of Stargate: Resistance files bankruptcy
Never good news when a game developer goes under. Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment took to their forums at Stargateworlds to let people know exactly what was going on: “if the bankruptcy should go through, however, Chapter 11 simply allows a company to restructure its debt to a manageable plan approved by the courts. It does not absolve a company of debt, and it does not shut it down or otherwise affect its daily operations.” they added “our entire staff is in-house working on upgrades and expansions for Stargate Resistance, and we continue to be motivated and excited by the response we’ve received from our customers.” Here’s hoping it all turns out cool for these guys.
Uncharted 2′s Amy Hennig takes Writers Guild Award
Yippee, bravo and all that stuff. This could not be more well deserved. Hennig, writer and director of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves took out the award last weekend. The game was up against the also wonderful Assassin’s Creed II, so well done!
StarCraft beta keys hit eBay
Annoying as it is, loads of the coupon beta keys for StarCraft managed to find their way onto eBay. Sadly you’d have needed over $100 bucks to nab one, with some going for closer to $400. Kind of annoying these jerks got the keys in the first place ain’t it, maybe I’m still sour about those concert tickets.
Tales of Graces recalled by Namco Bandai
A recall notcie has gone out courtesy Namco Bandai for the Japanese RPG “Tales of Graces”. It seems the game features some bugs that can ruin the gameplay experience. Namco intend to release updated discs that will work with present save files. It also gets it European release later this year.
God of War 3 doesn’t have HDD install
Good news for PS3 fans that hate hanging around twiddling thumbs whilst the latest game they’ve purchased installs itself to the HD. God of War 3 will apparently only install during game saves. Sony let the news out via Twitter.
“God of War 3 will apparently only install during game saves”
Thats hilarious… why dont they make it install while the game is paused or while its playing the game over animation as well?
Anyways cool that they are trying new things, but is it that hard to wait 10 min before playing a game? Instant gratification shouldn’t be a huge factor in video game purchases, in my opinion.
Hehehe.. is it sad that I find it amusing that UR MR GAY is in Mario Galaxy 2?… oh I need to grow up at some point don’t I?
