Denis Farr has an interesting article up about sexuality and the relationship discourse in Mass Effect 2. Farr quotes part of an interview with Ray Muzyka (General Manager and CEO at BioWare Corp / Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group) in which Muzyka seems to blame the lack of gay / lesbian relationships in Mass Effect 2 on the narrative structure. Muzyka’s rationalizations read like a cop out, however deftly put together, with Muzyka seemingly looking for any excuse to explain away the lack of same sex relationships. Farr takes on the inconsistencies in Mass Effect 2 with regards to gender flirtation and does so in a thought provoking manner. You can check it out at The Border House blog.
