Here we are returning with your gaming news roundup for the week. Here we will trawl the news and pick out what we think are the big stories of the past week. Left 4 Dead2 quadruples pre-orders compared toL4D
Like it says, 4 times as many gamers have pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 as did Left 4 Dead. Hardly surprising given the fanship Left 4 Dead has accrued in its short time. The demo has been met with opposing views, some saying it’s great, whilst others suggest it’s “more of the same”. Whatever the case it’s out November 17.
Halo Reach screens leaked internet explodes
Well that is what it’s like now whenever someone mentions the word “Halo” with regards to video games or Beyonce, right? The blurry images of Halo Reach kicked off those fanboys who are already drooling at the thought of its 2010 release. Media Molecule nix thoughts of Little Big Planet sequel
Seems like the folks at Media Molecule don’t like the idea of a sequel to Little Big Planet, with lead designer Danny Leaver stating it would be “the most counterproductive thing you could do I think”. Media Molecule instead will be supporting the original with DLC, saying they have a lot in the works for next year.
Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition announced
The Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition will come in a tin box (don’t they all now?), it will have a comic, artbook and making of DVD. Sounds like you’ll also get some virtual crap too for your extra cash.
BioWare: EA not involved in screwing gamers for DLC
If you missed this peanut let’s sum up. A storm kicked off when BioWare’s new game Dragon Age: Origins launched along with paid for DLC in the form of a large storage chest. Some sites berated EA suggesting it was a planned move to screw gamers out of additional cash. Sounds like a fair point, other than BioWare’s lead designer coming out to state EA had nothing to do with the decision. What do you think?
