Love or loathe her Megan Fox is one of the biggest starlets in Hollywood at the moment. She mouths off about being bi, but not wanting to sleep with bi girls, she mouths off about going bulldyke, but she also mouths off about something we love… gaming.
Megan Fox Gamer Geek Girl and why I like her
Megan Fox has upset a lot of lesbians. She’s fast gone from being a sort of cool, young Angelina Jolie clone, to being the annoyance of lesbians everywhere… well not everywhere because this lesbian loves her.
Bi-girls and lesbians were so pissed at Fox for her recent comments it made headlines on a fair few GLBT sites, but personally (and this is only one persons opinion) I thought she was getting a raw deal. Sure she made a silly comment about being a bull-dyke for awhile, and that she wouldn’t sleep with a bi-girl despite being bi herself, but those are her opinions. The fact this hot young starlet has openly stated she thinks “all humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl” is cool. She’s open, but even better than that, she’s a geek and a gamer.
Megan Fox – love her or hate her – is a geek girl gamer and we think this is very cool. The family guide to video games has a great article up about Megan Fox and her geek gaming ways.
The great thing about the interview is that you can tell Fox is a gamer, she’s not putting it on, she knows her stuff and she’s thought about gaming on a deeper level. When the interviewer poses certain questions or statements, Megan Fox responds with a depth only a true gamer would have. Here’s an example:
WTP: What are your thoughts on all of the video games for girls they’re releasing these days?
Megan Fox: Like what?
WTP: Like Wii Fit.
Megan Fox: Why is Wii Fit for girls?
WTP: Because it’s all about Yoga and stuff.
Megan Fox: And yoga is about girls? I know who would disagree with that statement. Sting. Sting would tell you that’s not true. That’s why his ass looks the way it does. He’s done years of yoga.
WTP: They do have other games for girls…
Megan Fox: I think it’s all relative. What is a girl video game and what is not is relative to the type of girl that you are. I think the reason more girls are into gaming is because parents are buying girls more game consoles and giving them the access to video games. Maybe a few years ago it wasn’t that way.
There’s a certain amount of snark in Fox’s responses, but she’s smart (yes I just said Megan Fox is smart) and she seems to have a grasp on something many gaming PR and publishers are yet to latch onto, that female gamers cannot be boxed into a certain type. If Megan Fox can see this what the hell is wrong with gaming in that there seems to be that unbreakable ceiling with regards to pitching a certain type of game at the female market (usually wrapped in a pink cover).
Fox states she’s recently been kicking ass in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe and also playing Viva Pinata, she’s enjoying both. It is this diversity of taste that all gamers, male, female, gay, straight have. Sure some of us may prefer one genre over another, but there is not one entire group that loves a particular genre over another.
Megan Fox might piss off various groups, but would we rather she became yet another Hollywood clone, silenced by her PR, never to say what she really wants to say, but rather what some company suit wishes her to say? Remember when Angelina Jolie used to tell it like it was, rather than being hooked up with Brad and towing the PR line. She was cooler then, sure she made mistakes, just as Foxx has a tendency to do, but don’t we all.
Megan Fox recently stated “I’m not coping very well with all this. Really I’m insane and I don’t know how to control my mouth, but I’m working on it”
Don’t control your mouth Megan, and keep on gaming, being a geek girl and having an opinion that’s not stilted by what someone else thinks you should or shouldn’t be saying.
Disclaimer: Before the comments fly calling me bi-phobic or any other kind of phobic. The only phobic I teeter on is spider phobic. Me thinking Megan Fox is awesome doesn’t make me bi-phobic, the girl herself is bi. Any spiders that can type though, don’t be a hater, you just creep me out.

Oh Lesbian Geek also have a review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
I was totally fine with her until she started throwing around “tranny” on TV like it is ok to say.
