Mass Effect 2 boxart featuring some space marine guy, a krogan and Barbarella

Thanks to EA and Bioware we can now see the official Mass Effect 2 boxart (after the jump). That guy in the space armor is back again, taking up almost the whole cover, along with Barbarella posed space chick and Wrex.. or Wrex’s brethren, what with him dying in the first one (no it’s not a spoiler, he didn’t die in everyone’s, I’m still sore about it, I loved that guy). Where is the hot dyke Commander Shepard who appeared as the hero in most lesbian gamers versions of the first game? She must be off making love to a sexy blue – female – mono-gendered alien some place. Mass Effect 2 releases next year.

Who is that guy they always use on the box art and screenshots?!! Commander Shepard is a cool short haired lesbian with a scar across her eyebrow… everyone knows that!!

   Barbarella was a funny movie that reference made me laugh.
   Your shepard sounds like my shepard… maybe everyone can compare screenshots sometime.
   I definetly think its rediculous to have that guy on the cover when you can make your own character. They should make it focus on your companions maybe with the villain’s shadow looming over them. If they insist on putting shepard on the cover at least darken the helmet so you cant see whos inside. I wonder if the art team for the game even gets to choose the art for the cover.

   Well she does look kinda like Barbarella in that 70 space pose don’t you think?
   I wonder how many lesbian gamers Commander Shepard’s look similar? A friend of ours in the UK had almost the EXACT Commander as mine!
   You know what’s also annoying re the male Commander Shepard, the lack of a female equivalent statuette. I’ve seen the Mass Effect statuette in a few game stores and if it had been a chick I’d have bought it.

   let’s hope they allow a real lesbian relationship in the sequel instead of a asexual alien who looks female so it’s not really gay, why couldn’t the male sheppard have a thing for the krogan or the turian, forgot their names, anyway?
   not to say that liarra wasn’t hot but i kind of fancied ashley myself.
   and that sounds like my hazel sheppard too, except she didn’t have a scar, she’s too good to ever get one.

   Ya know what, they have such a great face customization system (okay mebbe thats relative, it could be much better… like more racial coverage)
   You should be able to make the face of NPCs! Yes you heard me. Maybe its your rival, nemesis, love interest, or mere squadmate, but how cool would that be. No reason why they couldn’t add it in… it would be very simple. I guess this is pretty shallow, but hey, if gamers weren’t shallow we wouldn’t care so much about new graphics every year.
