Tracey John over at Wired has an interesting piece up about games specifically aimed at the female tween market. She’s essentially saying what we’ve said here many times before, but she’s highlighting the issue cleverly with ten up and coming games. This isn’t about games ‘teaching’ children on a conscious level, but more about the messages these sorts of ‘games’ imbue in the young impressionable mind. Find the prince, look good, be a lady, looks are all that matter etc. It’s an interesting, amusing, though ultimately depressing read.
