Bitches new female werewolf dramedy by Fox features female werewolves

Seems like 2008 was the year of the vampire and 2009 might be the year of the werewolf. Fox has announced a new dramedy (drama comedy) series titled “Bitches” that revolves around the lives of 4 New York women who are normal friends by day and a pack of werewolves by night.

Some fairly big names are attached to the series including feature writer Michael Dougherty of X2 and Superman Returns fame. Calling a show Bitches and having it be about women who turn into werewolves at a certain time of the month.. hmm.. bet the feminists are going to have a ball with this one. At present it’s pre-pilot by the sounds of it, so who knows if it will ever make it to screens.

   I don’t know how I feel about this. I love werewolves but I don’t want to see them ruined like vampires. Only more so because there are very few werewolf or werecat movies by comparison and so many of those are terrible.

   I can see where this has potential for some “sex in the city meets werewolf” (the later of which I have good memories of, though that was 20 years ago … I hate to imagine what I’d think of it these days)
