Gaming News Rundown and celeb parties

More Gaming news is afoot, if a few days late! Yes I know, we usually do these on a Friday don’t we, but last Friday Lesbian Gamers got invited to a party hosted by Angelina Jolie, held in Rebecca Romijn’s apartment, with Lena Headey behind the bar and Marla Sokoloff doing a live gig, so we sort of weighed things up and thought "gaming news can wait, this MIGHT not happen again for another year".

What do you mean you don’t believe us? …. Anyways, all the gaming news you can munch after the jumperoo.

PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits launch
Don’t forget if budget games are your thing and you own a PS3, the PlayStation 3 budget titles hit shelves today. They are: Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty 3, Fight Night Round 3, Motorstorm, Need for Speed: Carbon, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Resistance: Fall of Man, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas and Warhawk.

Paedophiles swapping game points for kiddie porn

Never let lies get in the way of a good headline. That seems to be the idea when Orlando TV station Local6.com posted this story. Apparently "Kids are playing games, and they are being asked to take photos of themselves naked in order to get game points," don’t forget Detective Lt. David Maurer, adults play games too and I doubt majority would sit in a game while that was happening without taking note of a gamers name and phoning the cops. Also gamer points are bought with credit cards, so not a difficult trail SHOULD it actually ever occur. Games cited in the article included: Halo 3, GTA, Call of Duty and Final Fantasy – dipsticks.

Peggle on the DS

Oh good lord, prepare to lose many hours, Peggle is coming to the DS thanks to PopCap games.  Peggle if you haven’t played it is highly addictive. You can download the demo for PC HERE.

E3 sucked – General consensus

All week there have been stories of just how much E3 sucked, not from gamers, but from developers and publishers. Essentially the whole thing was seen as a giant let down, with more than a few companies suggesting they may not bother next year.. The other rumor is it may be re-opened to the public next year to add some life.

Bungie not revealing project at PAX

Just in case you were all hanging out for the end of August to hear that Bungie announcement that ended up in the “Bungie Bungle” – as stated by Tracy in Gay Girls Who Game – don’t hold your breath. Bungie has stated on their website it won’t be happening at PAX.

Go! Go! Break hits XBLA

If you haven’t tried Go! Go! Break on XBLA it’s actually pretty cool. There’ll be a full review in the next episode of Gay Girls Who Game, but in short, it’s cool.

Guitar Hero World Tour set list leaks

Apparently the same dude that leaked another song list has leaked the full song list for Guitar Hero World Tour. If you want to see it, we’ve pasted it at the bottom as it’s looooong.

Bionic Commando Rearmed gets date

Bionic commando fans, mid August – specifically 13th August XBLA and 14TH August PSN – are the days to mark in your gaming diaries because that’s when Bionic Commando Rearmed will hit XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) and PSN (PlayStation Network). It will be 800 MS Points on XBLA (9.99USD) and the same converted price on PSN.

Fallout 3 fails to impress

Gutted! That’s how I felt when  I read a couple of hands-on reports for Fallout 3. Apparently it’s another game that’s more hype than substance, hard to believe given just how cool all those trailers make it look. Ahh well, it’s only a couple of people’s opinions, maybe by October when it’s released it will be better… maybe…

Sony & Nintendo watching iPhone but not bothered

That pretty much sums it up. Though SEGA thinks the iPhone is pretty special as a games machine Sony and Nintendo say they’re watching it, but they’re not bothered by it.

Lastly we bring you the full leaked – alleged – track list for the upcoming Activision shred fest Guitar Hero IV. Yes, the same naughty leaker that published the Guitar Hero III track list – which was correct – has leaked this one, so chances are it’s the real deal, though Activision has refused to comment. It’s long, but here goes. Happy gaming for the week people!

  1. Thefremen says:

Given that the set list was originally posted on Something Awful I’m taking it with a grain of salt. Now, if it came from 4chan, those are a very reliable group of internet pranksters.
Fallout 3 was said to be “the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. If I live to be 100 I doubt I will ever see a better game” by an Anonymous source. Which is me.
Srsly though, Dennis liked it (of GP fame).
