Spandex Force – Be a superhero!

Always fancied yourself as a bit of Superhero? Had aspirations of living a secret life as a funky lesbian crime fighter? Well you’ll be glad to know you now can, thanks to outstanding online PC title ‘Spandex Force’.
Yes, we know, no self-respecting lesbian would really wear spandex and we’d tend to leave that to our gay brothers, still if you can get over that aspect of it, you will love Spandex Force. It’s an online game for both Mac and PC that can currently be downloaded as a free demo over on their website. The full game will retail at $19.99 when it’s eventually released in February.

Basically the premise of the game is that you are a superhero in the making, out there trying to stir up some excitement about yourself and gain a bit of a reputation. Like all good superheroes you have a city base where you can monitor your citizens and help those in need. The way you help them in Spandex Force is by playing a series of puzzle games, very similar in fact to legendary Wii / PSP / DS / XBLA title Puzzle Quest.  Each puzzle helps you build up your superhero skills and powers, so that you can become the coolest lesbo superhero since Wonder Woman… umm.. I mean since… well Mystique or Ice Maiden.  Trust me, there’s just nothing quite like swooping in and saving some cute damsel in distress from a falling piano. You can download the demo HERE.

Will there be a Nintendo DS or Linux version?

Thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard of this game or company before. I’m planning to try it out.

    Warning warning… addictive!
    Over and out.
Oh and there doesn’t appear to be a DS or any other version atm, but it wouldn’t be a huge shock if they did at some point bring it out on other formats.

I emailed the company about other versions. A DS version is not likely since it would cost too much :( but a Linux version could be available as early as the end of February. :o

    Sounds awsome
I wonder if there will be a supervillain version? Being a supervillain always appeals to me more than being a hero…

    Hey there!
Just thought I’d add that I’d absolutely love to work with the DS if it were possible. But until the day some big publisher is interested, that’s impossible. The Linux version will probably not be a problem though, I hope! I just have a lot of other things to take care of first.
The supervillain version sounds like a great idea, by the way! Hmmm… If things go well, I just might make a sequel with some more…nefarious choices. :)

Got a crash twice now under OS X 10.3.9:
    MinigameThree_DrawRoad

  8. Karja says:

That crash was fixed almost the same day you posted the comment. Sorry about that! It should work fine now.
(For the technically inclined: I use the “DrawRoad” function as a wrapper around the Mac and Windows specific drawing functions, and accidentally caused an endless loop in the Mac version.)
